your resignation

Resignations are a necessary part of career progression and should always be handled in a professional manner.

Your resignation from your existing employer should take the form of a formal letter. It is best to be as succinct as possible, stating your intention to leave and suggesting a leaving date, bearing in mind the period of notice agreed on when you started. If you have accrued holidays it may be possible to come to an agreement to bring forward your leaving date to take into account the time that is due to you. Always end your letter by thanking your employers for their support.
