Operator role available for experience Contracts Manager - 12 month contract, Aberdeen based but on a partial rotation to China. Applicants must have experience of Major Capital oil and gas projects, ideally in the Asia Pacific region. Competitive day rate + overseas mark-up.
Based in Aberdeen, the role is to act as Contracts Manager for a topside related EPC contract (above $400m) in the Asia Pacific region.
The position will be initially for a 12month basis, however this may extend to a further 6 to 12 months.
The role will require extensive travel to Asia Pacific (c.50%), with an initial 4 week trip identified to meet key stakeholders and to get up to speed with the contract. At this time business class flights are offered for travel purposes.
The role will report functionally to the group PSCM manager, and directly to the Project General Manager.
Responsibilities:
- To act as the single focal point for the life of the contract, ensuring that it is both understood and being adhered to be all parties.
- To coordinate monthly governance process with the contractor, ensuring all information is gathered and actions are being completed.
- To ensure site team is communicating and working to the contract.
- To assess and update site related TQs, site instructions etc to ensure contractual position is in place.
- To coordinate and manage all variation orders, VO responses, QC and QS verifications and resolution of VOs; ensuring that full audit trails are in place.
- Facilitate resolution of invoice queries with Account Payable/Contractor.
- Provide contractual and commercial advice to contract sponsors during contract duration.
- Liaison with Legal and Commercial Departments when required.
Experience required:
- Experience in working in a senior contracts position on Major Capital projects, ideally Oil and Gas related
- Bias towards person with Asia Pacific experience
- Extensive large EPC contract management experience
- Working towards or achieved degree level in appropriate subject/ or CIPS Qualification (Level 4/5)
- Oil and gas experience ideally gained in an upstream operating environment
- Strong communication, networking, collaboration and well developed team-working skills.
- Ability to plan and prioritise
- Hands-on, committed self-starter, able and comfortable to work on own initiative.
