Thorpe Molloy are proud to be working in partnership with Aberdeen Sports Village, a premier sport and exercise facility in Scotland, hosting an array of world class sporting facilities, to source a Commercial Development Manager. This role would be suitable for a driven sales & marketing professional who possess the ability to quickly form profitable business partnerships with a broad variety of customer.

Job Purpose

  • To maximise Aberdeen Sports Village’s corporate funding by developing and extending existing business partnerships and identifying and managing new corporate relationships.
  • Foster new relationships with corporate organisations.
  • Maintain and further develop existing relationships with corporate contacts, sponsors and advertisers.
  • Increase commercial revenue through the recruitment of sponsors for ASV events, facilities, activities and programmes.
  • Identify opportunities and increase commercial revenue through other income streams.
  • Meet targets for revenue generation as agreed with the ASV Senior Management Team.
  • Manage and deliver sponsorship contracts and agreements.

Responsibilities

  • The role will involve identifying prospects and targets, preparing tailored proposals and presentations, meeting sponsors and negotiating sales.
  • To build on existing relationships, and to develop new ones, with corporate contacts.
  • Manage relationships and identify client needs and re-energise relationships to ensure maximum return and customer satisfaction.
  • To effectively manage the sales of sponsorship for all appropriate ASV activities, services and facilities.
  • To effectively manage the sale of all advertising within ASV facilities and all digital advertising including LCD screens, video scoreboards and aberdeensportsvillage.com and to meet and exceed financial targets.
  • To effectively manage ASV’s corporate contacts database.
  • Work with the Business Development Manager to review existing sponsorship and advertising packages and creating new packages.
  • Preparation of regular reports for the Business Development Manager, Senior Management Team and Board as required.
  • Represent ASV at networking events.

Essential Requirements & Competencies

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in an appropriate subject.
  • Applicant must hold a full, clean driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
  • Significant previous experience in a results driven marketing, sponsorship and sales environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • An awareness of the corporate market place in Aberdeen and the surrounding area is essential.
  • Good networking ability – existing network of relevant contacts is desirable.
  • An interest in sport, health & fitness is preferable.
  • Customer focussed.
  • Focussed and motivated.
  • Hard working with a flexible approach.
