Currently recruiting for an experienced Electronics Engineer on a permanent staff basis for an Oil and Gas client based in Aberdeen.

Working within the Electronics R&D team, the Electronics Engineer will be responsible for the design, development and testing of downhole tools. 

The Electronics Engineer will have the following responsibilities:

  • Designing electronics for surface and downhole tools.
  • Circuit analysis, simulation and schematic capture for component level PCB design.
  • Developing hardware and software for testing and production.
  • Planning, preparing and conducting the qualification of new designs and technology.
  • Creating engineering reports and work instructions.
  • Maintaining clear documentation on design and test development.

Experience / Qualifications:

Essential:

  • A minimum of 10 years’ electronic design experience.
  • A relevant Electronics Degree qualification.

Preferred:

  • Prior electronics engineering experience with downhole tools.
  • High temperature electronics experience.
  • Wireline tool design experience.
  • Analogue and low power electronics design experience.
  • Wireless and acoustic communications design experience.
  • Hybrid or multi-chip modules experience.
  • Software / microprocessor experience.
  • Electronic design and analysis software experience.

Prior experience of working within a workshop / production / Oil service environment would be advantageous.  This role would suit a candidate with excellent electronics design engineering experience within the Oil and Gas Industry who is accustomed to working in Research and Development focused environments. 

There is scope for occasional offshore so applicants must be willing to carry out occasional offshore work.
