The Senior Buyer (Packaging and Ingredients) is responsible for purchasing the packaging material and ingredients required to make the products produced within the factory. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Purchasing packaging material in manner which ensures there is adequate material to meet the demands of production whilst also ensuring there is not excessive excess material which would cause storage issues.
• Purchasing ingredients to meet the demands of production.
• Being aware of the lead times on packaging material and ingredients and placing orders in enough time to ensure their delivery for production.
• Building strong relationships with current suppliers.
• Securing new suppliers.
• Negotiating prices with current suppliers to ensure materials and ingredients are being supplied at the best price.
• Liaising with the Commercial, Production and Technical Teams to ensure packaging and ingredients meet the required standards.
• Managing the Purchasing Assistant to ensure that they keep accurate records, challenge any invoice discrepancies, etc.
