Currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Programming and Tooling Supervisor on a permanent staff basis for an Oil and Gas client based in Aberdeen.

The CNC Programming and Tooling Supervisor will be responsible for supervising the production of CNC programming data for a range of CNC machine tools, as well as sourcing the required tooling for production use.  The CNC Programming and Tooling Supervisor will have the following main duties and responsibilities:

  • Tooling and programming of CNC systems.
  • Interpreting engineering drawings for the preparation of CNC programmes.
  • Preparing all CNC programmes.
  • Compiling a library of programmes and updates with engineering revisions.
  • Compiling a library of programmes for manufacturing to put on to routings.
  • Making recommendations to the Foreman on improved methods of tooling and implementation of technology.
  • Communicating with Machine Shop Foreman and Machine Shop Supervisor to determine best selection and method for manufacturing.
  • Ensuring programme changes are completed in a timely manner and ensure such changes are documented appropriately.
  • Producing drawings for special tooling.
  • Supervising the daily activities of CNC Programming and Tool Store personnel.
  • Ensuring special tooling / inserts etc. are in place to suit programmes.

Experience:

  • Previous offline CNC programming experience is essential for this role.
  • Applicants will be expected to have had specific experience in a CNC Programmer type role.
  • Previous experience with Fanuc is essential.
  • Previous experience of dealing with Tooling Suppliers is essential.
  • Applicants will be expected to have previous, hands-on CNC machining experience.
  • Edge Cam software experience would be advantageous.
