Currently recruiting for experienced Lead Subsea Controls Electronic / Electrical Engineers on a contract basis for an Oil and Gas client based in Somerset, England.

The contract duration will likely last for circa six months and the client is ideally looking to take on candidates who are available at short notice.

The Lead Subsea Controls Electronics / Electrical Engineer will have the following responsibilities:

  • Taking ownership and engineer the package from function design specification to design, engineering, manufacturing and testing.
  • Working closely with the New Product Initiative Team to support the delivery of NPI programs and assisting in defining the technology gaps to drive future NPI alignment.
  • Ensuring and verifying technical compliance of products with specification, codes, standards, legislation and client technical requirements.
  • Ensuring that the product design conforms to field proven or qualified technologies.

Experience / Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Previous office-based electronics / electrical engineering experience with subsea controls.
  • Experience with the design and operation of Production Control Systems.
  • Previous experience in Concept design, Detail Design and Engineering of Electronics Control Systems.
  • Lead / Senior / Principal engineering experience within the subsea controls field.
  • PCB design / layout experience.
  • Experience with the introduction of new products from concept through to design and delivery.

Highly Desirable / Advantageous:

  • Experience with Subsea Electronic Modules.
  • Experience with Comm’s Fo / Copper.
  • Experience with Profibus / Canbus / Modbus / Ethernet protocols.
  • Experience in at least one of following areas - low voltage units (240 V), medium voltage units (600 V) or high voltage units (1000 V).
  • Subsea Power and Communication Unit experience.
  • Electrical Test Unit and Master Control Station experience.
  • Experience with Altium.
  • A relevant Electronics / Electrical Degree qualification.
