6-month contract vacancy for an experienced Commercial Advisor to join our client, an independent energy infrastructure company with an established portfolio of critical assets in the Central and Southern North Sea.

   

You’ll provide commercial support to the project, with a key focus on Join Venture (JV) Management activities and negotiating a range of agreements and managing commercial risk.

      

Duties and Responsibilities:

Joint Venture Management:

  • Ensuring the commercial sub-committee (and related subcommittees) are managed effectively under the IJV agreements.
  • Managing the commercial risk and opportunity register process.

      

Agreement Negotiation and Management:

  • Negotiating and drafting MOU with feedstock providers, before progressing to Heads of Terms (HoT) and Fully Termed Agreements (FTAs).
  • Supporting the wider commercial team negotiations on hydrogen sales, CO2 transportation and storage and the LCHA.
  • Leading the negotiation and drafting of study, proximity and confidentiality agreements, ancillary/utility and other ad- hoc agreements.
  • Leading the commercial work on any potential hydrogen storage opportunities; establishing the business case and negotiate agreements.

     

Business Planning/Economic Analysis:

  • Providing input to support the project annual plan and budget.
  • Acting as a focal point for coordination of business decision papers at the key decision gates for the projects.
  • Providing assurance on the economic model logic for the low carbon hydrogen business model ahead of economics being generated for key decisions.
  • Assisting with the preparation of appropriate reports, plans and presentations to support performance delivery of commercial activities.

      

Marketing/Customer Demand Model:

  • Ensuring that the marketing/customer demand model is kept fully up to date as more demand information is gleaned through customer interactions.
  • Amending the model as required to reflect operating parameters as the project is further developed, including capacity, availability, turndown.
  • Providing production/demand profiles for economic analysis.

      

Our client is seeking a candidate with the following skills, experience, and qualifications:

  • Graduate within a relevant business or technical discipline.
  • Demonstrable experience in Joint Venture Management, negotiation and management of agreements, business case preparation and economic analysis within a process or energy related industry (e.g. oil & gas industry or equivalent emerging energy industry).
  • Excellent literacy, numeracy and planning skills.
  • Working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interface at senior executive level.
  • Skilled at explaining complex issues to audiences at all levels and across different disciplines.
  • Application of sound commercial principles and ability to evaluate incomplete and / or conflicting information, reach sound conclusions, make decisions, and act accordingly.
