Leading Aberdeen Firm Swings In To the New Year with Celebration for Temporary Workers

Leading Aberdeen company Thorpe Molloy Recruitment is starting the year off in style by staging a special celebration for its temporary workers later this month.

Suzanne Ross, Business Consultant, Thorpe Molloy Recruitment

For the second year running, the multi award winning firm has invited its temporary workers, and their partners, to a “Kilts & Cocktails” evening in the Carmelite Hotel on Friday, January 22nd.

Billed as an early Burns’ Night with a twist, the evening will feature a cocktail reception, buffet, dancing and prizes.

Commenting on the forthcoming event, Temporary Finance Team Leader and event mastermind Suzanne Ross said: “Our ‘Kilts & Cocktails’ event is one of several initiatives we organise throughout the year to show appreciation for our temporary workers and the considerable contribution they make to Thorpe Molloy Recruitment. It’s also a great opportunity for our temporary workers and consultants, who often keep in touch by phone or email, to socialise together in a party atmosphere.”

Suzanne added: “If last year is anything to go by, it will be an excellent evening. There are only a few tickets left so any of our temporary workers who would like to come along should get in touch with their recruitment consultant sooner rather than later.”

Suzanne, who grew up in Banchory, joined Thorpe Molloy Recruitment in 2003 after completing a MA in Business Studies at Edinburgh University, and it was a summer job at the company which changed her career plans from accountancy to recruitment.

Initially working as a trainee recruitment consultant, placing candidates in temporary junior finance positions, Suzanne now recruits part and fully qualified accountants in her role as Business Consultant.

Suzanne said: “I really enjoy what I do. There are daily challenges and unpredictable situations which always keep things interesting.  Temporary finance is a fast paced area of recruitment – a great environment if you are the type of person who thrives working under pressure. As well as recruitment I also have responsibility for training new employees.”
