Recruitment consultants from Aberdeen-based Thorpe Molloy are taking part in an exciting 24 hour charity challenge to raise funds for the cancer care charity Maggie’s.

The five enthusiasts are pulling on their walking boots and using pedal power for their 30 mile cycle and 43 mile hike starting along the scenic Great Glen Way, then onto Fort William before finishing the next day at Inverness.
Thorpe Molloy says their team for Maggie’s Monster Bike and Hike challenge, Simon Warner, Simon Chinn, Ian Orme, Drew Alexander and Alan Clark are training hard to be fit enough to go the gruelling distance on May 1st.
Ian, who was a team member two years ago when they raised nearly four thousand pounds, says they want to do even better this year.
“This is a tremendous challenge because it plays to our strengths as a team. Some of the guys are great cyclists while others excel at the hiking element, so it means there is always at least one of us able to motivate the others when things get tough. Because we’ve completed this challenge before, we’ve got two targets – to raise more money and to beat our previous time – just as well we are a competitive bunch!”
Gemma McDonald Corporate Partnerships Manager continues 'We are so delighted that the team from Thorpe Molloy has decided to come back and take on the Monster Bike & Hike in 2010. This event raises hundreds of thousands of pounds every year for people affected by cancer and this year is going to be the biggest year yet! By taking on this Monster challenge, this team will be helping us to support people coping with the biggest challenge that they will face in their lives - on behalf of everyone at Maggie's and all our centre visitors, we would like to say a huge 'thank you'! It is not too late if you want to take part and we also would really like people to volunteer to help us at the event - visit www.maggiesmonster.org to find out more!'
