`Invaluable` Amanda is the rising star

THE senior commercial manager with recruitment specialists Thorpe Molloy was named rising star of the year. Amanda Robb, 28, has been with the Aberdeen-based firm since 1999 when she joined as a trainee recruitment consultant from Stirling University where she graduated in English. She said she was "over the moon and very happy". The award was sponsored by learndirect Scotland for business.

She has been an invaluable member of the company and has been fast-tracked up the management ladder. Amanda took up her new role, which was created specifically for her, last September. The chamber said: "Amanda is now responsible for the commercial success of the Aberdeen office and plays a major role in decision making alongside the directors. "Her greatest impact has been in the area of business development, which has had a major impact on turnover. "She believes in delivering an exemplary level of customer service to ensure that Thorpe Molloy continues to impress its clients every time it responds to their needs, and that company consistently wins business when dealing with firms for the first time."

The chamber said Amanda had in her new role increased turnover at Thorpe Molloy`s Aberdeen office by 16%. It added: "She has developed a strong team who respect her and understand what is expected of them. Consequently, during this period Thorpe Molloy has gained 17 preferential agreements with clients and 10 potential agreements. "
