Thorpe Molloy Recruitment on target for 16% increase in turnover
Turnover at north east recruitment agency, Thorpe Molloy Recruitment, is on target to be in excess of £5 million for the period October 2005 to September 2006. Thorpe Molloy was set up in 1997 to provide recruitment services to the north east. The success has been attributed to a combination of business acumen and the solid infrastructure that has been built up by the company over the past nine years.
Amanda McCulloch, Associate Director of Thorpe Molloy comments, “2005/2006 has been and continues to be an excellent year for Thorpe Molloy. Our turnover is projected to have increased by 16% as compared with 2004/2005.
“Since the company was set up nine years ago we have striven to provide a consistently high quality recruitment service to both candidates and employers. The way that Thorpe Molloy has gone from strength to strength is testament to the fact that we continue to achieve this goal whilst developing our client base in a sustainable manner.”
Thorpe Molloy currently has in excess of 50 preferential clients; an increase of 20% since 2005. Many of these preferential clients are on an exclusive basis. This means that vacancies are only registered with Thorpe Molloy. “This illustrates how Thorpe Molloy has responded to a competitive marketplace, demonstrating creativity in sourcing candidates for their preferred clients and ensuring that employers are not missing out on talent.”
As a direct result of an increase in the demand for their services Thorpe Molloy has also created three new positions. Three trainee recruitment consultants joined the company in September; two of the new recruits will be in the permanent division and the other will focus on the temporary division. This brings the number of staff employed by Thorpe Molloy to 22.
The three new recruits to the Thorpe Molloy team are all recent graduates. Hazel Lawrie (22) and Ian Orme (22) are both from the Aberdeen area whilst Rhys Griffiths (21), originally from Newport, South Wales has moved to Aberdeen following completion of his university studies at the University of the West of England.
Hazel, who graduated from Strathclyde University this summer, comments, “Having worked within the family business for several years I am used to responsibility and also to making effective use of communication and interpersonal skills. I am looking forward to transferring those skills to my role at a trainee recruitment consultant.” She continues, “After finishing my studies in Glasgow I was keen to secure a graduate opportunity in recruitment and so decided to return to Aberdeen. I am looking forward to working as part of the dynamic team at Thorpe Molloy.”
Ian adds, “Thorpe Molloy is committed to providing clients and candidates with a high level of service and I welcome the chance to be part of a forward looking company.”
