Judith Thorpe is a graduate of Heriot Watt with a BA in Business Organisation. Coming from an entrepreneurial background she always had designs on running her own business, but it wasn’t until she met Karen that the opportunity arose.

Karen Molloy had graduated from Newcastle University with a BA in History, Politics and Social Policy 5 years earlier, but following a spell working and travelling in Asia had returned to the UK still in search of something with the X factor.

Judith and Karen first met when they were both hired by a national recruitment agency to set up a new office in the Granite City. After two years when this had been successfully achieved, the entrepreneurial bug started to bite and the idea of starting their own recruitment agency was hatched.

From humble beginnings in 1997 in a basement office, the company now operates out of prestigious premises in Queen’s Terrace with a staff of 26.

Both Judith and Karen have managed to combine professional success with motherhood with the occasional new baby making its debut in the office!

Judith is also an ambassador for the Prince’s Scottish Youth Business Trust (PSYBT), which offers support to young people wishing to start a business in Scotland whilst Karen is a member of the CHILDREN 1st Business Group in Aberdeen, encouraging local businesses to lend support to the charity.
