Currently recruiting for an experienced Instrument & Systems Engineer on a contract basis for an oil and gas operator based in Kingswells, Aberdeen. The contract will initially last until the end of March 2020 and the client is ideally looking to take on someone who is available at short notice. This role will involve offshore visits; therefore, applicants must be prepared to work offshore.

The Instrument & Systems Engineer will have the following main duties and responsibilities:

  • Acting as a responsible Engineer for multidisciplinary engineering scopes, in order to provide effective technical support to company operated assets.
  • Ensuring work processes and procedures are fit for purpose and are implemented to ensure the team is consistently applying sound engineering principles and work is performed in a safe, efficient and cost-effective manner.
  • Working at an advanced technical level, and participating in planning by providing original approaches to practical and economical solutions.
  • Providing technical advice and guidance on engineering activities that affect more than one department, or operated asset.
  • Proactively managing relationships with colleagues and engineering contractors.

Experience / Qualifications:

  • A relevant Engineering Degree qualification is essential.
  • Professional registration with IET, or similar, would be preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years’ instrument and systems engineering experience, within the oil and gas industry, is essential.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, directly with an oil and gas operator, is essential.
  • EPC / design experience would be preferred.
  • Applicants will be expected to have experience of managing engineering contractors and service providers.
