Senior Petroleum Engineer - VR/20996
Currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Petroleum Engineer on a 12-month contract basis for an Oil and Gas Operator based in Kingswells, Aberdeen. The client is ideally looking to take on a candidate who is available at short notice and all applicants must be fully eligible to work in the UK. The Senior Petroleum Engineer will be expected to provide petroleum and production engineering support to Operated Assets. The successful candidate will be responsible for optimising production and injection performance, as well as resolving any relevant operational issues.
The Senior Petroleum Engineer will have the following main duties and responsibilities:
- Production Optimisation: Responsible for production and petroleum engineering activities for Balmoral and Solan and other operated producing Oil and Gas assets. Optimising production and injection wells via surveillance techniques, well modelling and field implementation. Working closely with Operations on a day to day basis to continuously optimise production wells in response to any operational issues. Working closely with Reservoir Engineers to define and implement reservoir management plans.
- Production Allocation and Forecasting: Providing oversight of well allocation processes. Providing timely production forecasts, production loss management and production efficiency tracking.
- Enhancement Opportunities: Developing plans and proposals for well interventions and / or process enhancements that could unlock production potential. Preparing and leading annual well reviews for each asset.
- Well Operations: Providing petroleum engineering support for any future well intervention operations. Be prepared to travel offshore to the wellsite should petroleum engineering supervision be required (this will be relatively infrequent, but important).
- New Developments: Providing petroleum engineering support for any new field development or infill well drilling opportunities. Acting as petroleum engineering focal point for completion and well test design. Providing advice and vendor supervision for artificial lift design, in particular for gas lift and ESP completions.
Experience / Qualifications:
- A Degree qualification in a relevant Engineering discipline is essential.
- A postgraduate qualification in Petroleum Engineering would be preferred.
- Extensive and previous experience in a Petroleum Engineer type role, directly with an Oil and Gas Operator, is essential.
- Experience of working on a broad range of operated field development and production projects is essential.
- Applicants will be expected to possess a strong track record of proactively proposing and implementing successful production optimisation opportunities and well intervention work.
- Experience of offshore well intervention operations, production operations, facilities optimisation and artificial lift techniques (gas lift, ESP, etc.) is essential.
- Experience with Prosper and GAP software is required.
- Experience with PVT and MBal software would be desirable.
- Knowledge of OGA production reporting systems is required, in order to generate the monthly PPRS.
