Currently recruiting for an experienced Engineering Technical Authority (Chemical / Process) on a permanent staff basis for an Oil and Gas client based in Aberdeen.

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Engineering Technical Authority will have the following main duties / responsibilities:

  • Identifying appropriate technical resources to undertake and support operational and project activities, including specialist technical studies, design activities, HAZOP / HAZIDs, etc.
  • Providing technical supervision, direction and support for all technical / engineering personnel.
  • Developing and approving technical engineering project / operational deliverables.
  • Approving and closing-out of engineering technical queries.
  • Working as a Lead Engineer on specific projects as required.
  • Technical Authority for all company technical or engineering documents.
  • Developing and approving technical / engineering BMS documents.
  • Ensuring the successful delivery of all technical projects as per design specification (client requirements) within an agreed timeframe and budget.

Education / Experience:

  • A Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant discipline, is essential.
  • Chartered Engineering status would be preferred.
  • Previous technical engineering management experience within the Oil and Gas Industry is essential.
  • Previous experience of developing and approving maintenance and integrity strategies is essential.
  • Experience within a similar Engineering Technical Authority type role within the chemical / process field would be preferred.
  • The client is ideally looking to take on someone who has between 7-10 years’ worth of overall chemical / process engineering experience.
  • This role would suit someone who has been in a previous Engineering Technical Authority / Manager type role in an Oil Service manufacturing / workshop environment, with a specific focus on chemical / process engineering.
