The post holder will report directly to the Finance Asset Lead and provide a Financial and Management Accounting service to the Asset Management Team.  Acting as first point of contact for accounting support to the Asset. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting the compilation, preparation and modelling of the internal reforecasts and internal Life of Field Plan (Opex and Capex).
• Supporting the preparation of budgets and Joint Venture Partner budgets for Capex and Opex.
• Providing monthly and quarterly variance commentary.
• Including latest comments on AFE status and progressing AFE approval as appropriate.
• Co-ordinating update of monthly cost tracker for actuals and forecast in line with timetable
• Building strong relationships with the Asset Team through regular communication.
• Holding monthly meetings to support and ensure Managers fully understand the VOWD and the full year forecast for the cost codes within your area of responsibility.
• Be proactive, highlighting any improvements to processes or financial output and raising any issues.
• Working with the Cost Analyst to ensure monthly accruals are accurate.
• Maintaining cost tracker, updating forecasts and issuing monthly G & A report.
• Supporting Joint Venture Partner Audits.
• Challenging forecasts, monitoring accruals and understanding the outcome.
• Maintaining accuracy and robustness of cost forecasts.
• Ensuring compliance with financial processes.
• Driving standardisation, simplification and automation of accounting and reporting, working closely with the other Asset Accountants.

Skills & Experience:

• Experience in an oil and gas environment strongly preferred.
• Strong aptitude for numbers and analysis combined with strong MS Excel skills.
• Strong MS PowerPoint and presenting skills.
• Proven track record of working well in a fast paced team environment.
