Currently recruiting for an experienced Technical Cloud Support Consultant on a permanent staff basis for a client based in Aberdeen.

Reporting into the Global Support Manager, the Technical Cloud Support Consultant will be responsible for providing 2nd level support, as well as acting as the escalation point for the 1st line support team so that they can perform their daily Helpdesk duties effectively.  The successful candidate will also primarily be responsible for the monitoring, configuring and general upkeep of the company’s AWS cloud platform. 

 The Technical Cloud Support Consultant will have the following main duties and responsibilities:

  • Software installations on premise or on the AWS cloud.
  • Providing support and advisory services to national and international customers.
  • Providing 2nd line technical support to customers.
  • Supporting the company’s own software product development and testing.
  • Participating in larger and smaller delivery projects, with technical deliveries such as data migration, system integration and installation.

 Experience / Qualifications:

  • Applicants will be expected to hold a Degree qualification in a relevant IT / Technological / Computing discipline.
  • Experience in a similar role is essential.
  • Previous technical operating experience with various database platforms, such as Oracle, Sybase and MS SQL is essential.
  • Oracle development (PLSQL) and operation (DBA) experience would be highly desirable.
  • Previous application management and infrastructure management experience would be highly desirable.
  • Experience with Amazon WS or other cloud computing services would be preferred.
  • Experience with database communication and replication would be preferred.
