The Hydraulic Manager’s purpose is to develop and manage the Hydraulic Service business and will be balancing between being a Technical Authority on hydraulics, managing the day-to-day delivery of services and developing the business.

The ideal candidate:

  • Must have strong hydraulics experience and knowledge (a Hydraulics Technician / Engineer background), who is happy dealing with the day-to-day technical requirements of the role such as project management / engineering, estimating etc.
  • Will use business development and sales skills to grow the new Hydraulic Services: visiting customers with the Sales Manager, assisting with targeting / winning new business and having an input to proposals / bids etc.
  • Will have hands-on experience from earlier career. It would be an advantage before moving into more office based engineering work.

Experience in managing the delivery of hydraulic services in the following key areas:

  • Hydro-testing, hot oil flushing and contamination monitoring.
  • Hydraulic piping, bolt torqueing and flange management.
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic hoses and fittings.
  • Instrument tubing and fittings.
  • Ability to read and understand hydraulic circuit diagrams, P&IDs and GAs.
  • Hands on experience in trouble shooting and maintenance hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Good application knowledge about hydraulic pumps, motors, valves and cylinders.
  • Familiar with ASTM, ASME, API, ABS and DNV codes and standards is an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of drilling and subsea equipment.
  • Offshore oil and gas experience.

Mechanical / Hydraulic Engineering Qualification is essential, and degree would be desirable.
