Our client is looking for an Equipment Manager on a permanent, staff basis.

Key Responsibilities and Main Duties:

  • Complying with the company’s health and safety policy and be responsible for QHSE performance at all Peterhead facilities. Be active in promoting the effective use of Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures and safety rules, and through communication ensure the workforce is aware of the hazards and controls necessary for their own safety and that of others and that this awareness is practiced at all times.
  • Supporting the company initiatives to gain and retain associated ISO and OHSAS accreditations.
  • Arranging and carrying out safety meetings in conjunction with yard safety representatives and management team.
  • Ensuring staff are aware of the company standards and ensuring they operate to them while ensuring that all work completed is carried out with safety as a priority.
  • Working closely with the Quality Team and other groups to ensure that field feedback and lessons learnt are embedded back into the business aligned to product and service improvements.
  • Responsible for long term maintenance planning, including workload forecasting and Capex budgeting.
  • Management of the global equipment maintenance budget.
  • Understanding and managing cost control for with continual focus on driving efficiencies and effectiveness that support contribution Margin and / or CFC improvement.
  • Supporting regional sales and delivery requirements by ensuring the readiness of global equipment.
  • Interfacing with Offshore Operations to ensure alignment and utilisation of offshore personnel time when not on projects to support workshop activities as required.
  • Ensuring that offshore personnel competence and training is aligned to onshore operational requirements to ensure best use of resource allocation.
  • Interfacing with Technical Excellence Group in ensuring that best practices are used in maintenance operations.
  • Managing on a day-to-day basis fabrication and maintenance projects in conjunction with the Engineering Team and within time / cost / quality budgets.
  • Providing an environment which will motivate and develop the group to operate as a high performing team and include regular formal and informal performance reviews, and training and development planning.
  • Developing and maintaining a close working relationship with Project Delivery group while developing and managing all interface processes.
  • Supporting customer interfaces at Peterhead facilities as required i.e. sales meetings, testing, audits etc.
  • Supporting the development, implementation and use of the new business systems and ensuring that the NAV ERP system is used for all transactional orders.
  • Ensuring that business system reports are aligned and available to support good business management i.e. company ERP / CRM systems, MaintPro, SharePoint / network and tools to efficiently file and retrieve all relevant data.
  • Developing and managing annual facility budgets.
  • Ensuring Procedures and Processes are utilised and reviewed for updates on a regular basis.
  • Ensuring good management of Service Assets including tracking, utilisation and maintenance and certification is maintained.
  • Constantly reviewing and managing the team’s technical capability and competence and ensuring alignment to the business needs. Recognising training needs and individual training and developing plans to support up-skilling key personnel.
  • Determining day to day control of resources to meet maintenance and operational fit for purpose of equipment including task and job allocation and manpower management with focus on priorities and specialist skills to meet contractual requirements.
  • Ensuring operational checks for equipment prior to deployment. Supporting Technicians / Operators in the maintenance and operation of equipment in accordance with documented procedures and checklists.
  • Ensuring that all operations at the global bases are conducted in compliance with current legislation and in accordance with the Integrated Management system and associated departmental procedures.
  • Delivering a workshop facility and environment that meets industry control system and hydraulic workshop standards with focus on organisation, housekeeping and aesthetics.
  • Working closely with the Workshop Supervisor, controlling the handling and documentation of asset certification.
  • Proactively participating in regional sales and delivery meetings as required i.e. Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP).
  • In addition to these duties employees are required to carry out such other duties as may be reasonably expected.

Key Measurements:

  • Focus on positive feedback from clients and reporting supervisors.
  • Actual spend versus forecast on monthly maintenance costs.
  • Equipment mobilisation based on meeting schedule and packaged workscope.

Core Competencies

 

Qualifications and experience required:

  • Engineering qualification in a Mechanical / Electrical or associated technical qualification at minimum ONC level. Or have gained suitable technical training and education i.e. gained an apprenticeship or attended college, university in a technical capacity.
  • Have demonstrated management qualifications, skills and experiences i.e. sponsored training, MBA? Etc.
  • Have previous supervisory experience of managing a highly motivated, fast moving but flexible team.
  • Have experience in an Oil and Gas Industry operations business.
  • Experience or strong awareness of contractual or commercial interfaces is desirable.
  • Knowledge of flexible products and / or associated handling equipment in marine applications.
  • Have previous supervisory experience of managing a highly motivated, fast moving but flexible team.

Training / Skills:

  • Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems.
  • Full understanding of PUWER and LOLER.
  • Supervision and leadership.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Office packages.
  • Excellent time management.

 

Experience:

  • Proven experience in leading a workshop facility.
  • Excellent level of equipment operation and maintenance skills.
  • Awareness of HSEQ obligations.
  • Offshore experience in pipe handling equipment.
  • Financial and commercial knowledge with experience in budget management.
  • Experience of continuous improvement and lean management.
