Currently recruiting for an experienced Business Applications Analyst on a contract basis for an Oil and Gas company based in Aberdeen. The contract will initially last until the end of February 2019 and the client is ideally looking to take on someone who is available at short notice.

Reporting to the Business Applications Team Lead, the Business Applications Analyst will provide application expertise on the Windows10, Software Asset Management and Digital Transformation projects.  The Business Applications Analyst will have the following main duties and responsibilities:

  • Categorisation of the Windows 10 UK applications inventory by cross checking SCCM with Business Applications team lists.
  • Determination of Windows 10 applications readiness state by performed testing, which may also involve liaison with the vendor.
  • Liaison with the Business to perform additional applications testing where required.
  • Gathering End User Agreements for software and other specific license entitlement details for inclusion in the Software Asset Management system.
  • Working closely with corporate Windows 10 and Software Asset Management Teams to ensure application information is stored in a central repository.
  • Participating in Digital Transformation Project initiatives when required.
  • Ensuring all application documentation is maintained in accordance with prevailing practices.

Education / Experience:

  • A Degree qualification in a relevant IT / Computing Science discipline would be preferred.
  • A Business Analysis, BCS qualification or similar would be preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in similar Business Applications Analyst role within the Oil and Gas Industry is essential.
  • Previous and recent experience in a similar position within the Oil and Gas Industry is essential.
  • Recent experience in an Applications Readiness role on an OS upgrade project is essential.
  • Experience with Software Asset Management is essential.
  • Experience of liaising with Application Vendors is essential.
  • Applicants will be expected to possess knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle.
  • Applicants will be expected to possess knowledge of Testing Cycle techniques.
