Currently recruiting for an experienced Electronic / Mechanical Engineer on a permanent staff basis for an Oil and Gas company based in Aberdeenshire.

This role will involve ad-hoc offshore work, therefore applicants will be expected to possess up-to-date / valid offshore certification.

The Electronic / Mechanical Engineer will have the following main duties and responsibilities:

  • Fault finding, repairing and commissioning of control systems and associated packages (including rotating equipment systems etc.).
  • Development and deployment of retrofit systems including the provision of all supporting documents and drawings as necessary based on client SDRLs and management of FAT and SAT activities.
  • Offshore maintenance, surveys and condition monitoring of equipment.
  • Working onshore and offshore, on short term ad-hoc projects, both independently and as part of a team.

Experience / Qualifications:

Essential:

  • A Degree qualification in a relevant Engineering / Technical discipline.
  • Previous and specific experience in a similar Electronic / Mechanical Engineer type role within the Oil and Gas Industry.
  • Previous experience of working offshore.
  • Be willing to mobilise offshore at short notice, on an ad-hoc basis.
  • Experience / knowledge of rotating equipment application, from performance requirement to specification.
  • Experience / knowledge in the design, configuration, commissioning and fault finding of monitoring and protection systems typically used in the Oil and Gas industry for rotating equipment (e.g. Bently Nevada 7200/3300/3500 etc, System1, Metrix Setpoint and Legacy Ruston, Solar and Dresser systems).
  • Experience in system commissioning and testing in an offshore environment.

Preferred:

  • Understanding of ATEX regulations.
  • Small bore tubing qualifications.
  • Experience with engineering software packages (e.g. MatLab, Labview etc).
