Currently recruiting for an experienced Project Engineer (Small Bore Tubing / Instrumentation Systems) on a permanent staff basis for an Oil and Gas client based in Aberdeen.

The Project Engineer will be responsible for providing technical support, with respect to the development of Hydraulic Services, Small Bore Tubing, Flexible Hose Assemblies and Integrated Services.  The Project Engineer will have the following main duties and responsibilities:

  • Developing and delivering Cost, Time, Resource (CTR) quotations.
  • Implementing technical processes and procedures with respect to Small Bore Tubing and Fluid Power and Control system tubing design, installation, flushing and testing / sampling and inspection services.
  • Implementing technical processes and procedures with respect to Hydraulic System operations, installation, commissioning and repair.
  • Supplying technical input to work scope specification, durations, project plans and work packs for Hydraulic Services.
  • Liaising with Customer Focal points to ensure the pro-active management and delivery of services, in line with client contracts and individual project / work scopes.
  • Analysing Divisional Small Bore Tubing / Flexible Hose Assemblies / Integrated Services / Hydraulic survey results and identify trends through statistical analysis and providing written reports with details of proposed alternative practices leading to improved operational safety and reliability performance.
  • Project engineering Small Bore Tubing / Flexible Hose Assemblies / Integrated Services / Hydraulic client work scopes, from agreement of work scope with client to delivery of completed reports.
  • Implementing work packs for Small Bore Tubing / Flexible Hose Assemblies / Integrated Services / Hydraulic work scopes, as agreed with clients, and mobilise survey /engineering personnel in order to deliver work pack specifications. This can be survey, inspection, repair, installation, manufacturing, test, flush and commissioning work scopes.
  • Operationally managing Small Bore Tubing / Flexible Hose Assembly / Integrated Services / Hydraulic Technicians and Engineers while they are working on projects.
  • Liaising with Key Account Management and Operations personnel to ensure they have sufficient technical knowledge to discuss Small Bore Tubing / Flexible Hose Assemblies / Integrated Services / Hydraulic work scope deliverables.
  • Preparing work packs for execution of Services in accordance with customer requirements and Company procedures.
  • Developing and maintaining project schedule and evaluating, organising and prioritising workload within a schedule.
  • Ensuring client project / work scopes are completed in line with Company / Client agreed procedures.
  • Presenting work scope and asset presentations and deliver to client.
  • Attending customer meetings to establish, through negotiation where appropriate, and confirm precise Engineering requirements and integrate this information into work packs in line with client requirements.
  • Ensuring full compliance, during all engineering and related activities, with regard to sound engineering practice and adherence to relevant internal and external procedures, guidelines and standards.
  • Actively supporting the development of new IM product ranges from conceptual design to implementation.
  • Ensuring activities within the Division meet agreed target completion dates.
  • Responsible for assembling and managing of work scope close out documents and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • A Degree qualification in an Engineering discipline would be preferred.
  • Engineering Chartership status, or working towards, would be desirable.

Experience:

  • Previous and specific project engineering experience - in respect to working specifically with Hydraulic products, such as Small Bore Tubing and Flexible Hose Assemblies – is essential.
  • Previous and specific design experience with Small Bore Tubing / Instrumentation systems is essential.
  • Experience of carrying out engineering design, development and manufacture of Hydraulic, Instrumentation and Small Bore Tubing Process Control systems is essential.
  • Experience of working with hydraulic systems within the Oil and Gas Industry is essential.
  • Experience with the development of P & IDs and documentation packs is essential.
  • Previous customer service / sales experience is essential.
  • PED / ATEX knowledge is desirable.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Inventor, or similar packages, is desirable.
  • This role would suit an experienced Project Engineer who has worked specifically with hydraulic products within an onshore manufacturing / service environment within the Oil and Gas Industry.
