Currently recruiting for an experienced Project Engineer (Telecoms) on a 6 month contract basis for an Oil and Gas company based in Aberdeen.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Project Engineer will provide engineering support on a wide range of turnkey telecoms projects.  Primary tasks will include: project management, systems design, preparation of engineering documents, testing and commissioning of telecoms systems.   The Project Engineer will have the following main duties and responsibilities:

  • Detailed design, testing, installation and commissioning of systems as required.
  • Management of Telecoms Systems Integration (TSI) projects.
  • Financial management of projects, ensuring the financial management system is kept up to date and providing an accurate forecast of the financial performance of projects.
  • Providing effective management of all the project’s stakeholders during the project lifecycle.
  • Liaising with suppliers and third parties to ensure the smooth completion of projects.
  • Assisting the Project Management group with the successful delivery of each project within timescale and to budget, ensuring that all agreed customer requirements are met.
  • Supporting the Quality programme within TSI operations, which ensures compliance and maintainability of an ISO certification across the TSI organisation.
  • Travelling to customer meetings for vendor system testing - installation and commissioning on site.

Qualifications / Experience:

  • An HND qualification, as a minimum, in a relevant Technical / Engineering Discipline is essential.
  • Previous and specific project engineering experience within the telecoms field / sector is essential.
