Currently recruiting for an experienced Condition Monitoring Engineer on a permanent staff basis for an Oil and Gas client based in Aberdeen. The Condition Monitoring Engineer will primarily be responsible for providing condition monitoring analysis and advice to a variety of clients.

The Condition Monitoring Engineer will have the following duties and responsibilities:

Vibration Analysis:

  • Analysing / interpretation of vibration data in order to diagnose machinery defects.
  • Providing, in the form of a report, appropriate maintenance recommendations for equipment.
  • Setting up of vibration monitoring databases.
  • On-going database management.
  • Reviewing and analysing data related to client specific equipment.
  • Engaging with the engineering representative at client sites in order to close the maintenance loop following the implementation of recommended actions.

Lube Oil Analysis:

  • Being involved in the facilitation and co-ordination of oil sample collections from plant according to the defined schedule.
  • Liaising with the Oil Analysis Laboratory.
  • Analysing / interpretation of the lube oil / grease sample results in order to diagnose equipment defects.
  • Providing, in the form of a report, appropriate maintenance recommendations for equipment.
  • Ongoing database management / improvement of programme.

Experience / Qualifications:

  • A BINDT VA2 qualification is essential.
  • An HND or Degree qualification in an Engineering discipline would be preferred.
  • Previous and recent experience within a similar Condition Monitoring / Condition Based Maintenance Engineer type role is essential.
  • A marine engineering background or experience is essential.
  • Previous experience of working with vibration monitoring systems is essential.
  • The successful candidate will be expected to have considerable knowledge of Condition Monitoring and the role it has in Condition Based Maintenance (CBM).
  • Applicants will be expected to have direct ‘hands on’ experience in the operation of a routine vibration monitoring programme, involving the use of hand held vibration data collectors and analysis software.
  • Applicants will be expected to have experience in the setting up and managing of a vibration monitoring programme, involving the use of hand-held vibration data collectors and analysis software.
  • Applicants will be expected to possess knowledge of specialist techniques for detecting defects on rolling element bearings.
  • Applicants will be expected to have experience with the different types of transducer used for vibration data collection.
  • Experience with pump performance ultrasonic flow measurement equipment would be highly desirable.
  • Experience with the operation and maintenance of rotating machinery would be highly desirable.
  • The role will involve both onshore and offshore based work so applicants must be prepared to work offshore.
