Our client is looking for an Assurance and Investigation Advisor on a 12 month fixed term contract.

The Assurance and Investigation Advisor will be responsible for carrying out assurance checks to determine level of compliance to key procedures (including Safety Case and Environmental Permits and Consents, UK Management Systems and Industry Guidance) by onshore and offshore individuals and departments.  They will also be responsible for assuring that when safety incidents occur, the correct level of investigation is performed and closed out in a timely manner in accordance with Event Recording and Investigation (ERI) Procedure, GBL-GBL-OP-OVD-00527 and participating in Emergency Response activities as required.

Further Duties / Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting all activities in a safe and effective manner and raising safety and environmental issues immediately and in line with corporate policy.
  • Leadership – Undertaking the role in line with corporate policy and demonstrating behaviours in line with company values at all times. Readily accepting accountability.
  • Financial – Carrying out duties in a way that maximises value and minimises waste and risk.
  • Maintaining the OIA Standard in support of Continuous Improvement.
  • Carrying out Audit as defined in the 5Y SEMS Audit Plan (offshore & onshore).
  • Audit for compliance in accordance with company Operations Integrity Assessment (OIA) Audit Procedure ECN-HS-PRP-00443.
  • Developing Field Evaluations and issuing to company Stakeholders for onsite monitoring.
  • Maintaining LEHS Assessments with Audit Findings and agreed Actions.
  • Responsible for assuring quality of event entries in company Event Reporting & Investigation system (Enablon) in relation to Event Type, Risk Ranking.
  • When required, facilitating investigations to ensure compliance to ERI procedure.
  • Expediting close out of event investigations with Investigation Leads and Event Owners.
  • Reviewing, revising and implementing UKMS HSEA related procedures in conjunction with relevant stakeholders.
  • Participating in Onshore Emergency Response process and exercises as required.
  • Key Reporting and Performance Review requirements shall include;
    • Monthly Investigation Quality Assessments and complete associated scorecard;
    • Monthly MAH Dashboard Assurance Reporting;
    • Quarterly Performance Review of Asset Inspection Checklists; and
    • Annual Performance Review of Audit & Investigation Findings.
  • Collaborating with others in the team and looking for opportunities to leverage their network and work with others to develop safe, practical and effective solutions.
  • Continuous Improvement & Innovation - Continuously developing ways of working by seeking feedback from colleagues and key stakeholders. Complying with company project management disciplines, effectively utilises knowledge databases and actively participates in project reviews.

Qualifications / Training:

  • Degree or equivalent in experience.
  • Chartered Engineer.
  • Lead Investigator Training.
  • Essential HSE Training.
  • NEBOSH.

 

Knowledge / Skills / Experience:

  • Operations support.
  • Experience of audit, monitoring & review of HSE&A Management Systems.
  • Thorough knowledge of UK HS&E Legislation and supporting Industry Guidance and good practice.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and presentation skills.
