Our client, an oil and gas operator based in Aberdeenshire, has a requirement for a Senior Contracts Specialist on a rolling 12-month contract.

The Senior Contracts Specialist will be responsible for management and coordination of the procurement process – including tender strategy, contract negotiation and post-award performance / relationship management.

Duties and Responsibilities will include:

  • Developing pre-tender strategy documents.
  • Pre-qualification of the market to evaluate and identify suitable vendors.
  • Leading detailed tender evaluation and contractual/commercial negotiation.
  • Liaising with key internal stakeholders to evaluate tenders and prepare high quality contract award recommendations.
  • Presenting contract award recommendations to a range of stakeholders and obtain contract award approvals.
  • Processing requisitions once approved by budget holders into call-off/purchase orders.
  • Negotiating commercial contracts and system generated call-off orders against master service contracts across the business.
  • Responsible for contract risk mitigation and commercial optimisation ensuring best value.
  • Providing post-award administration support including contract amendment and negotiation of variations.
  • Supporting key supplier performance and relationship management including KPIs and FPAL feedback.
  • Development and management of detailed project procurement plans.
  • Ensuring that the Supply Chain Department Procurement Plan is kept up to date on a monthly basis.

Applicants to this role should offer the following:

  • Considerable experience in a similar role, ideally within an oil operator.
  • Strong contractual and commercial negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of LOGIC model contracts.
  • Educated to degree level (Business/Commercial/QS) and ideally working towards CIPS accreditation.
