Currently recruiting for an experienced Crane Maintenance Onshore Support Engineer on a contract basis for an oil and gas operator based in Aberdeen.

The contract will initially run until November 2019 and the client is ideally looking to take on someone who is available at short notice.  There could be the occasional requirement to work offshore, therefore applicants must be willing to do this.   

Reporting to the Structural Lead, the Crane Maintenance Onshore Support Engineer will have the following main duties and responsibilities:

  • Supporting planned maintenance and inspection activities for offshore cranes. At all times, taking a lead role to ensure maintenance, inspection and repair orders are resourced and implemented safely and efficiently.
  • Providing specialist technical advice and guidance to site / offshore personnel on the operation and maintenance of offshore pedestal and gantry cranes. Ensuring highest safety standards, timely response to queries and minimal disruption to operations.
  • Ensuring that crane maintenance and inspection plans within CMMS are accurate and executed in accordance with OEM maintenance manuals and FMECA reports.
  • Preparing / reviewing scopes of work and economic justification for modifications and repairs, ensuring they are correctly engineered, documented and reported.
  • Maintaining and updating all critical crane component drawings, including hydraulic, electrical and mechanical.
  • Reviewing current material stock holdings against the requirements for upcoming maintenance and repair scopes.

Experience / Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a similar Crane Maintenance Onshore Support Engineer type role, within the Oil and Gas industry, is essential.
  • Extensive experience with the maintenance and repair of lifting equipment (pedestal and gantry cranes) within the Oil and Gas industry, including offshore / site experience, is essential.
  • Experience in using SAP for maintenance management is essential.
