Our client is looking to recruit a HSE Advisor on a permanent basis. Candidates must have previous experience within the Oil & Gas sector and hold a NEBOSH Certificate.

The HSE Specialist supports local Management in establishing and continuously improving HSE culture within the worksite.

The HSE Specialist reports directly to his Line Manager and functionally to HSE Manager.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Developing Managers' awareness and ensuring HSE is an integral part of Line Management responsibilities and objectives.
  • Assist Line Management in:
    • Understanding and Implementing the HSE Management System.
    • Monitoring HSE objectives.
    • Liaising with local contractors and agencies regarding HSE.
    • Generating local HSE procedures, work instructions and checklists as required.
    • Preparing and monitoring HSE plans that define how the HSE Management System is implemented at location level.
    • Monitoring compliance to policies, standards and procedures.
    • Planning and assisting in compliance audits and self-audits (HSE MS, HSE and Product Line standards).
  • Coordinating and actively participating in the screening and HSE training of all personnel, including contractors.
  • Keeping abreast of any new documentation and training material related to HSE and to inform management accordingly.
  • Advising Management on the level of compliance of the local HSE program with company, local and national requirements/regulations of the host country.
  • Actively monitoring and following up on HSE reports and facilitating LPT meetings, HSE audits.
  • Supporting line management in investigations of failures and accidents.
  • Analysing HSE trends for the location.

Experience and Competencies:

  • University degree or Master’s degree preferred; equivalent experience to be considered.
  • HSE recognised as strength by peer and manager.
  • Good communication skills.


Competencies to be kept current:

  • HSE Professional training of step 1-4.
  • Completion of the NEBOSH International Certificate (or equivalent).
