Currently recruiting for an experienced Decommissioning Project Engineer on a permanent staff basis for an Oil and Gas company based in Aberdeen.

Directly responsible to the Operations Manager / Lead Decommissioning Engineer, the Decommissioning Project Engineer will have the following main duties and responsibilities:

  • Monitoring the contract budgets and costs.
  • Overseeing the management and the selection and requisition of all plant, equipment and materials on the contract.
  • Leading negotiations with the Customer where any variations and changes to contract carry commercial implications.
  • Taking the leading role in preparation of pre-tender evaluations and in the preparation of tender submissions as required.
  • Ensuring that all client expectations are delivered.
  • Following up on customer enquiries and demands promptly.
  • Ensuring all activities, including those of sub-contractors, are managed.
  • Ensuring that all hazards are identified and assessed to mitigate risk exposure.
  • Planning and monitoring the work scope budgets and costs.
  • Optimising deployment and performance of resources to achieve or exceed performance targets.
  • Planning operations in conjunction with client representatives.
  • Communicating progress of operations through liaison with clients on a regular basis.
  • Ensuring co-ordination of shipments to worksite through Logistics Department.

Qualifications / Experience:

  • Previous and specific experience in a similar Decommissioning Project Engineer role within the Oil and Gas Industry is essential.
  • Knowledge of Environmental Services, coupled with experience in work involving decommissioning, is essential.
  • Applicants will be expected to possess strong working knowledge in Rope Access, Scaffolding, Lifting, Welding, Cutting and Vessel Management Services.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, relating to work involving ionizing radiation, HP / UHP water jetting, solids / liquid transport systems and confined space working, would be desirable.
  • A Degree / HND / HNC qualification in a relevant Engineering discipline would be desirable.
