Communications Lead - VR/31657
We are recruiting for a UK Digital Communications Lead to join a leading energy operator on a 12-month contract based in Westhill. This role will drive the development and delivery of digital communication strategies across web, social media, and internal platforms, ensuring a consistent and engaging presence across all UK business areas. The successful candidate will have proven experience within the oil and gas sector, ideally from an operator background, and a strong track record in digital strategy, content creation, and stakeholder engagement.
This role works closely with Managing Director, UK Communications Manager and Events and Communications Manager.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Developing and delivering UK-wide digital communications strategies and plans in line with company ambitions and digital best practice.
- Managing and enhancing the UK website to reflect the work of all UK businesses.
- Designing, delivering, and managing social media channels and campaigns that support and promote UK business needs, ensuring alignment with the company narrative and measuring performance.
- Developing and delivering employee advocacy training to equip employees for effective storytelling.
- Supporting recruitment and customer-focused teams in managing digital recruitment campaigns and communicating with customers through digital tools.
- Developing strategies for internal communications tools (e.g., intranet, Viva Engage, ONELAN screens) across all sites, both onshore and offshore.
- Creating high-quality content in line with company brand messages, values, and visuals, collaborating with internal teams to deliver stories digitally and on social media.
- Supporting with crisis communications and providing cover for the UK Communications Manager in relation to social media management and external media.
Applicants to this role require
- Strong experience of managing digital communications including social media in a demanding and fast-paced environment.
- Experience of managing traditional media outlets, including press.
- Adaptable approach to work and a good team player.
- Quick to pick up new concepts and capable of managing competing and complex needs.
- Good working knowledge of Office 365.
- Experience of using video production, audio production and design tools (desirable).
