An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and commercially minded Finance Manager to join a well-established, forward-thinking business near Inverurie. This is more than just a traditional finance role, it’s a chance to step into a genuinely business-facing, value-adding position where finance plays a key role in driving strategic decisions.

The business has recently undergone a period of positive change. As a result, this Finance Manager role has been reshaped to focus on business partnering, FP&A and strategic support – rather than purely reporting. You’ll be part of a collaborative team, working directly with the Finance Director and supporting a group of finance colleagues.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Playing a central role in guiding and supporting business strategy.
  • Leading change projects, including integrating potential acquisitions, evolving financial systems, managing investment processes, capex evaluation, and ROI analysis.
  • Collaborating closely with senior management to prepare and present capital business plans.
  • Delivering clear, data-driven insights to support growth and performance targets.
  • Acting as a Finance Business Partner, engaging with stakeholders across the organisation.
  • Challenging assumptions, providing meaningful analysis, and identifying opportunities to drive revenue through smarter reporting and automation.
  • Helping shape and refine business processes, translating them into practical IT solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Mentoring and developing Junior Finance Team members, supporting their skills and confidence development.
  • Taking ownership of producing accurate and timely financial statements, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow forecasts, and annual budgets.
  • Leading detailed analysis on cash generation, profitability, and return on capital employed.
  • Overseeing regular balance sheet reconciliations and stock and fleet checks.
  • Working with Group Tax and Finance to prepare statutory accounts and ensure tax compliance.
  • Supporting internal audits to manage business risk and maintain robust controls.

What you’ll bring:

  • Experience in a similar business facing role.
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset and natural curiosity.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Quick to pick up new systems, tools and information.
  • Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Self-motivation and the confidence to work on your own initiative.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook (intermediate to advanced level).

What’s on offer:

  • A truly business-facing finance role where your ideas and insight will be valued.
  • Flexibility to support work-life balance.
  • An inclusive and supportive culture with opportunities to grow your career.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
