A commercially focused Finance Analyst role offering the opportunity to work closely with Sales, Operations and Project Management, turning financial and operational data into meaningful insights that support profitable growth and better business decisions.

Based in Aberdeen, you’ll join the Finance Team and report to the Senior Accountant, with responsibility for developing financial analysis, forecasting and reporting across the business. A key part of the role will be improving visibility of performance through financial modelling and Power BI, while providing insight into profitability, market performance and commercial opportunities.

The role will cover a broad range of responsibilities, including:

  • Maintaining and developing commercial and market analysis models, analysing customer, product, regional and market performance.
  • Developing and improving sales forecasting models, working closely with Sales and Operations to ensure forecasts are accurate and meaningful.
  • Providing variance analysis and reporting on sales pipeline, order intake and revenue projections.
  • Reviewing standard costs, analysing material variances and supporting pricing reviews.
  • Conducting project margin and profitability reviews, identifying margin erosion and supporting corrective actions.
  • Supporting management accounts, budgeting, forecasting and longer-term financial planning.
  • Developing reporting tools to improve visibility of key financial and operational metrics.
  • Developing and enhancing Power BI dashboards and reports, including automating reporting processes and integrating data from multiple systems.
  • Working with stakeholders to establish meaningful KPIs and reporting requirements, while supporting increased adoption of Power BI across the organisation.

This is a role for someone who enjoys getting into the detail of the numbers but, importantly, can translate that analysis into clear commercial insight. You’ll work with a broad range of stakeholders including the Finance Director, Sales and Business Development, Operations and Manufacturing, Project Managers, Senior Leadership and IT/Business Systems.

You’ll bring strong Excel and financial modelling skills, alongside proven Power BI development and reporting experience. Experience with ERP and financial reporting systems, standard costing, variance analysis and profitability analysis will be valuable.

A degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or a related discipline is required, alongside experience in financial analysis, management accounting or commercial finance.

If you’re a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys working with data, building better reporting and using analysis to influence business decisions, this is an opportunity to make a real impact.
