Joining an established Aberdeen-based business, you will report directly to the Senior Management Accountant and play an important role in delivering accurate and timely financial information to support both board reporting and decision-making across the organisation.

The role will have a varied remit, including:

• Preparing and posting month-end journals, including accruals, prepayments, payroll, leases and intercompany transactions.
• Analysing corporate costs and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and streamline expenditure.
• Providing gross margin analysis and commentary against budget and plan, including project accounting reconciliations and review of revenue-generating activities.
• Reviewing and signing off balance sheet accounts, identifying aged items and driving appropriate follow-up action.
• Supporting FX accounting and ensuring accurate postings across the income statement.
• Managing DataRails, including budgeting, year-end rollovers and reconciliations.
• Supporting audit and tax compliance activity and preparing statutory accounts for one legal entity.
• Supporting the business through a planned refinancing process, including quarterly audited reporting requirements.
• Contributing to wider business improvement initiatives.

This would suit a qualified Accountant who enjoys a hands-on role and wants more than a traditional reporting position. You’ll work closely with both operational and corporate colleagues, so strong communication skills, a collaborative approach and the ability to build effective relationships will be important.

Experience within a similar environment isn’t essential; what matters is a practical approach, curiosity and the confidence to work across different teams.

Based in Aberdeen, there may also be occasional requirements to visit other company locations or supplier premises.
