A Procurement Assistant is required on a full-time permanent basis for a supplier providing to businesses across Scotland.

    

As Procurement Assistant, you will support with the management of the company’s supply of goods and services and manage relationships and pricing with suppliers.

     

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing purchase order details and deliveries.
  • Progressing and expediating outstanding orders to achieve agreed delivery dates.
  • Assisting Sales Team on special order items and ensuring suggested suppliers list is updated regularly.
  • Alongside the sales team, ensuring all bespoke approvals are filed, along with all stock item technical data and specification sheets.
  • Ensuring all supplier price lists are up to date.
  • Ensuring vendor qualifications are carried out on all new and existing suppliers for ISO audit purposes.
  • Ensuring all Iso requirements are met, NCR records are raised, maintained, and retained.
  • Assisting with stock take.
  • Preparing and presenting procurement updates at comms meeting.
  • Building and maintaining good relationships with existing and new suppliers.
  • Communicating with suppliers, manufacturers, and internal teams to manage stock level expectations and working capital.
  • Tracking and reporting key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
  • Ensuring all supplier price increases are updated on SAGE as well as customer specific pricing, maintaining profit margin targets in collaboration with Procurement and Sales Managers.
  • Monitoring stock levels on a regular basis and ensure these are maintained for continuous supply to customers.
  • Amending and managing stock levels in collaboration with key managers.

         

Applicants to this role require:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office – Sage, ERP and CRM Experience advantageous.
  • Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques.
  • Excellent organisation and multitasking skills with an eye for detail.
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines and targets.
  • Understanding of procurement/sales performance metrics.
  • Team player with a high level of dedication.
