Senior Reporting Accountant - VR/29441

Opening for a Senior Reporting Accountant, a newly created position with a leading energy services company. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in management reporting primarily responsible for the legal entity and consolidated statutory reporting. Candidates will be fully qualified with UK GAAP and IFRS experience.

   

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Preparing statutory financial statements complying with appropriate reporting GAAP.
  • Ensuring all statutory legal entity documentation is completed and filed appropriately.
  • Reviewing monthly/quarterly local and group reports and presentations: consolidated and individual income statements; cash flow and balance sheets on month and YTD basis; and analysis of performance vs forecasts and budgets.
  • Monitoring and tracking variances between group/segmental and legal entity reporting.
  • Reviewing significant variances and accounting movements ensuring complete and accurate statutory results.
  • Reconciling and liaising with Tax Department regarding disclosures.
  • Carrying out audit and financial reporting in all jurisdictions.
  • Preparing and reviewing analysis/reports for internal control requirements.
  • Liaising with internal and external organisations as required:
    • External auditors to ensure audits are progressing as efficiently as possible (delegating where applicable).
    • Local Accounting Teams to understand significant transactions and to provide input into the preparation of audit information and analysis and other group and local functional teams, such as Tax, AP, GL, Fixed Assets, Legal, Commercial etc. to ensure that the statutory legal entity position is properly reflected in the accounting systems.
  • Preparing complex analyses and / or reconciliations, as required.
  • Developing, overseeing and managing ad hoc projects, as required.
  • May perform other duties/ad-hoc projects as assigned.

       

Applicants to this role require

  • Professional accounting qualification (i.e. CIMA/ACCA/ACA).
  • Experience with UK GAAP and IFRS.
  • Be proficient in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Be detail-oriented, organised, and focused on quality.
  • Ability to work using own initiative and to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Ability to effectively manage own workload, and work within given timescales (both internal and external), to meet monthly deadlines and goals as well as managing several time-sensitive activities simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to interact with internal staff at all levels of the business.
  • Adaptability and problem-solving capability.
