I'm a Senior Business Manager at TMM Recruitment, and started my career here in 2010 as an engineering recruiter. Quite early on, I recognised a gap in the local market for blue-collar recruitment. I pitched the idea, gained the company’s support, and the Technical & Industrial specialism rapidly grew to become the second-largest revenue-generating team, second only to Accountancy & Finance.

I also manage the Supply Chain & Commercial, Engineering & Planning, QHSE and IT teams. 

My approach to recruitment has always been pretty simple and people focused – trying to form genuine, meaningful and long-lasting relationships with my candidates, clients and colleagues. If you can achieve this and people buy into you as a person, then recruitment really doesn’t need to be overcomplicated.

Areas of Expertise

I work predominantly with energy sector employers, from traditional oil & gas service companies to renewables firms, and also provide recruitment service support for manufacturing and FMCG positions. The roles I specialise in include:

What I Love About My Job

For me, what I love most about my job goes beyond helping professionals find their dream role or supporting an employer to fill a challenging position. It’s about the honest, long-lasting relationships I’ve built over the years — with colleagues past and present, and with the many candidates and clients I’ve had the privilege to work with time and again. It’s that human connection, the personal relationships built through genuine interaction that I truly value and have always enjoyed.

Personal Touch

My favourite things in the world are my wife and 2 kids, holidays, travelling and football....... although not necessarily in that order :-). I definitely have no hidden talents, so I'll stick to sharing a not so hidden one about me - scoring goals! I'm  Keith FC’s record goal scorer with 263 goals (351 Highland League goals in total). 

Since retiring from my semi-professional football career a few years ago my weekends are all about spending family time with my kids at various activities. Friday nights are no longer boring, Saturdays are no longer spent travelling all over the Highlands, and Sundays are no longer spent hungover after celebrating a win on the team bus home!
